-
- The demo is a fully interactive segment of the non-speech version of the game,
- including rendered sequences, sound effects and musical soundtrack. The

- in the story. The story involves Interstellar Master Thief Jack T. Ladd who
- has been captured by the Federation Bounty Hunter Ysanne Andropath. As in the

- PLAYING THE DEMO
- ----------------
-
- The upper part of the screen shows the main playing area, whilst the lower
- part of the screen shows the panel. This panel contains the player's inventory
- as well as a map area and control icons. The player's cursor can be in one of
- six modes: TAKE, USE, MOVE, EXAMINE, TALK and HOLD. The cursor mode can be
- changed by either clicking on one of the control icons with the left mouse
- button or by cycling through the modes with the right mouse button (or with
- the keyboard - see below). To interact with an item on screen, click on that
- item with the left mouse button whilst in the appropriate mode. Once an
- object has been taken, it can be placed anywhere in the inventory. If desired,
- objects in the inventory can be sorted into a neat order by clicking on the
- ARRANGE icon on the panel. If it is possible to use an object on other items,
- then clicking on that object whilst in USE mode will add an extra mode to the
- list of cursor modes.
- Any spoken text can be bypassed once read by clicking the right mouse button
- (or with the keyboard - see below). For an immediate exit from the close-up
- conversation mode, hit the ESC key.
